I’m in Denmark for the next couple of days for a team meeting. I’m staying in the hotel LEGOLAND and I’m actually quite impressed, they’ve completely redone the lobby, added a new resteraunt, and just made it a lot more fun. the whole place sort of felt like an elaborate bar last time I was here, now I look at it and think children will like it.

anyways, I’ll be here for a couple of days and then I’m heading home. My parents are coming to down once I get there and that should be fun…though I fully intend to sleep a lot of the time.

Currently going through the ambassador decisions list. We had lots of folks this year from lots of new places. at the end there are 84 nominations that equal 144 pages (in 8 pt type…verdana) of material about these people I’ve got to read. thank you to those of you that kept it concise

I’ve been working a lot on organizing all of the LEGO Ambassador nominations into one document so I can send them out to the rest of the community team.  This is so we can HARSHLY JUDGE you more efficiently (I’m just kidding…you knew that right?).  I’ve been going through stuff for NMRA coming up in two weeks and then planning for San Diego Comic Con later in July.  Then there’s Brickfair stuff. 

I was looking through flickr to see if anyone took a picture of my MOC at BrickWorld.  I’ll post it when I find it, or I guess I could take my own pictures.  Truth be told I didn’t even have a chance to take pictures at Brickworld.  I’m having to depend on the Joe Meno’s of the world, if there can be more than one, to take pictures of absolutely everything and hope my stuff fell in there some time. 

Anyways, I’m looking through flickr and I searched my name and low and behold a picture of me finally comes up first before some other guy named Steve Witt…who I’m sure is a jerk, or an evil version of me.  I was seeing all the photo shopped pictures of me from my contest and I was all like….I HAVE A BLOG OH YEAH.  I only missed yesterday, but I’ve missed writing.  traveling just throws a kink into my schedule.

I wanted to put up some info for you guys about upcoming store openings along with some pictures of the make and take models they’ll be giving out:

Cincinnatti, OH – Kenwood Town Center (June 19-21): LEGO Flying Pig set

Dallas, TX – NorthPark Center (July 17-19): LEGO Texas Longhorn Skull set

Oklahoma City, OK – Penn Square Mall (July 24-26): LEGO Cowboy set

These are mostly pretty cool I think. 

I don’t know what’s going on with the flying pig but it looks nice.

So I’m in the middle of building the new giant drill rig thing that they made for Power miners

and it just reminds me how much I like Power miners.  they’re just big beefy playable toys  and they make me super happy. 

That’s pretty much all I got right now.  If you live in the Northeast remember that tomorrow is free ice cream day at Friendly’s.  from like 12-5 I think.

well I just shipped out a mess load of stuff for BrickWorld so I got to take a few minutes to build one of the new models I picked up at the store. I grabbed the Creator Car Carrier set and its pretty dang cool. I recommend this one. the cool thing is that its compatible with the green and yellow creator cars from the last couple of years so you get a full carrier if you’ve been building all along.

Anyways, I just accidentally made my San Diego Comic-Con tickets for the wrong month so I’m currently on the phone redoing them. The travel agent says I said it wrong, but I think she just heard what she wanted to hear, but thats neither here nor there. oh well.

Alright, I’ve been doing a lot of building these last few months and I just wanted to give a brief review of 2009.  I want to give a quick review on my normal scale of “eww’”, “meh”, and “yay”.  As of today I’ve built:

All of Star Wars – YAY

Most of farm (except combine because its not in the store yet – YAY

All of Pirates – YAY (except the loot island one gets a MEH because I don’t like the spuddy baseplate thing)

a few creator sets – YAY (except green car which bored me)

Construction – YAY (except bulldozer, too fragile when you move the pusher thingy)

other than that, I’m still working my way through other stuff and 2009 is a snazzy LEGO year.  What’s your favorite stuff so far?

We have been meeting with the LEGO Certified Professionals all week and its been a lot of fun.  Jan Beyer (my European Counterpart and friend) has been ragging on me for not posting on my blog much lately, but I have simply been either traveling or asleep lately.  Jan says hi by the way.

The meeting has gone well and the LCPs are all heading home today or tomorrow.  Overall though, the Company Store was closed…so I think the meeting for them was probably a dissappointment.  Ah well, you can´t always get what you want : )

Going back to numbered bags for a minute. I always forget how nice numbered bags can be when I’m using them. I just get annoyed that I built something so quickly. The difference ends up being huge though when you don’t have numbered bags.

literally it can stretch out forever if you’ve got to do that much more sorting. sigh, just random I suppose.
